·       Reflect on the relevance of Menopause for front-line mental health and wellbeing work

·       Discuss recognition of menopause and associated risks of missed diagnosis

·       Make action plans on what they can do to progress practice in their service / organisation

Making Every Contact Count – Mental Health (MECC-MH)

During the session, participants will:

·       Identify what is meant by mental health, mental wellbeing and mental illness, including recognised definitions, models and frameworks.

·       Define the MECC approach and explore how this can be applied for mental health in health and wellbeing settings.

·       Develop skills and confidence to engage with individuals about their mental health and wellbeing.

·       Develop skills to support individuals to understand distressing feelings and experiences.

·       Develop awareness of local support services and how to effectively signpost individuals to the appropriate service.

·       Develop confidence to understand and implement appropriate signposting pathways.

Who Should attend?

·       Individuals who don’t feel confident starting a conversation about mental health & and emotional distress with individuals that they are in contact with.

·       Community individuals / groups supporting people

·       Staff / Volunteers supporting people or working in customer facing roles e.g. front of house/reception
