We know that mental health struggles don’t keep to a 9–5 schedule. For you, evenings and late nights may be the hardest times, when services close and your day starts to slow down. That’s why we offer Bluesci at Night, a safe and welcoming support service open every evening of the year.
Bluesci at Night is our out-of-hours crisis service, providing a supportive space for adults living in Trafford who are experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis. Part of Greater Manchester Mental Health Crisis Services, commissioned by the NHS, the service has been running for over 4 years. Rather than facing things alone, you talk things through, and be supported by trained staff in a calm, non-judgemental environment. This service is not clinical or hospital-based. Instead, it offers a more informal alternative where you can feel listened to, understood, and safe.
What support is available?
At Bluesci at Night, you can expect:
- A warm and welcoming space where you can take a breather
- Time to talk to trained staff who will listen without judgement
- Emotional support and reassurance in moments of crisis
- Help to explore coping strategies
- Support to plan your next steps, including signposting to other services if needed
You don’t need to have a diagnosis or be under the care of mental health services — the focus is on how you’re feeling in the moment. You might find the service helpful if you are:
- In need of a safe space to calm down and think clearly
- Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unable to cope
- Experiencing low mood or distressing thoughts
- Struggling with loneliness or isolation, particularly in the evenings
- Going through a difficult life event or crisis
