Friends of Coppice Library are a community group, which was set up in October 2014 in response to Trafford Council’s consultation on the future of our libraries. Discussions with local residents, as part of that consultation, revealed that many people could not afford to travel into nearby town centres. So we feel it is vital that this service is maintained for the local community. Whilst the outcome of the consultation resulted in the closure of some local libraries, Coppice Library has been saved, by a proposal to develop a community hub. The Friends Group are working with Trafford Council, along with Bluesci and other residents, to retain the library and information services in our neighbourhood.
