Trafford Neighbourhood Mental Health Service
Delivered by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Bluesci, the Trafford Neighbourhood Mental Health Service offers mental health and social prescribing support for people living in Trafford. We provide short‑term, person‑centred help at the times when you need it most.
How the service can help you
Many people find they benefit from a little extra support to help them move forward. We work with you to understand what’s important, what challenges you’re facing, and what support will make the biggest difference. Our team can offer brief interventions to help you get back on track and feel more in control.
Our aim is to support you to improve your mental health, physical health, and overall sense of wellbeing. Depending on your needs, the service can offer:
- Mental health support – working with you to identify your needs and next steps.
- Emotional support – a safe space to talk through worries or concerns.
- Medication advice – access to a pharmacist who can discuss your medication and recommend changes to your GP if needed.
- Practical help – including guidance to navigate services like housing and financial support.
- Lifestyle support – help with stopping smoking, becoming more active, eating well, or reaching a healthier weight.
- Support to connect with your community – accessing local groups, activities, and services.
- Help to access talking therapies – such as counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
- Transport support – for example, help applying for a bus pass.
- Social activities – such as friendship groups, arts and crafts, and leisure opportunities.
- Befriending – helping you access befriending services to reduce loneliness through supportive contact.
