We have a range of activities at the centre, hopefully there is something you are interested in joining. Some of our activities require you to book in advance due to room size, others you can just turn up to.

|Tuesday||10:00am - 12:00pm||Art Groups - Whether you are a beginner, or well practiced, everyone is welcome to join our diverse and friendly groups who meet in our art studios. Two groups run at the same time - one based around painting and drawing and developing confidence, and the second focused on painting & drawing and acrylic painting on canvas. You are welcome to bring your own materials, or they can be provided for you. Please note: due to the current pandemic and because our studios are not well ventilated, we would ask that group members wear a mask whilst in these activities.|
|1st Tuesday of each month||10.30am - 12.30pm||ESOL English Conversation Club - Are you learning English, and want the opportunity to practice with other people in a friendly environment? Join us for the on the first Tuesday morning of each month for the conversation cafe! Hosted by ESOL in our cafe, you can learn English, find out about English courses, enjoy a coffee and make friends. No need to book, you can drop-in and leave when you wish. See you there!|

Open to everyone regardless of ability, you can learn to knit, get guidance with your current project or help others. If you have your own knitting things please bring them, but we can provide them too if needed.|
|Wednesday||10:00am - 11:00am||NEW - Walking Group - First walk takes place on the 8th December 2021. Join us for a chat and a walk around the local area. These walks are designed to be gentle, allowing you to enjoy the scenery, get to know each other and feel relaxed. Please wear supportive footwear and bring a coat. This activity is weather dependent - if walks are cancelled, we will post on our Facebook page to let people know. |Thursday||10:00am - 12:00pm||BME Peer Support Group - Join The Trafford BME Mental Health Service for a weekly support group at the centre. Hosted by Pakistani Resource Centre, once a month there will be a guest speaker, and the opportunity every week to connect. Refreshments are provided.|

|Thursday||1:00pm - 3:00pm||Sew Mindful (Embroidery workshops)- Learn the easy and mindful art of embroidery over a relaxing 2 hours with Chris from Hoop Doggy Dog. Embroider a simple design using an embroidery hoop – we’ll supply the designs, fabric and all the equipment you’ll need so you don’t need to worry about bringing anything along. On the day, you’ll learn the hand embroidery basics and Chris will be on hand to support and answer any questions. You will also receive a worksheet to take home which will include the basic instructions and some simple stitch guides so that you can stitch your cares away in your own time. Your embroidery design can stay in the hoop and you can hang it on the wall for show! Once you’ve mastered the skill, you could also try embroidering napkins, pillowcases, tote bags, even clothing etc.|

|Tuesday||10:00am - 12:00pm||NEW - 8 Week Women's Fitness Programme - (First session 11th January 2022). Our partners, Pakistani Resource Centre are running a fitness programme and are looking for ten women to take part in the eight week-long experience. Working with a personal trainer, the programme will look at all aspects of health and fitness, whilst introducing the group to exercise in a gradual way. It promises to be a great way to look at your fitness levels, whilst socialising and getting to know other women. Rachel from Trafford Council will be at Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre on the last Wednesday of the month to tell you more. She can also signpost you to services for employment support. This is a drop-in session, however it would be helpful if you can let us know if you will attend and your general query so tailored advice can be given. |Wednesday||10:00am - 12:00pm||NEW - Ready for a Change? Self Esteem and Purpose Workshops. (Starts 26th January 2022). During our lives, we all experience moments, events & circumstances that we don't want and don't expect to happen. These FREE workshops, run by Joy Ethic will create a supportive space to explore the impact these events have on our self-esteem and how this may be affecting you. In a small supportive group, practise techniques that help identify and clear patterns of self-criticism as well as look at how to stay focused on what's most important to us. |Thursday||10:30am - 12:00pm||Hearing Voices Group - This group is free open to anyone who hears voices, see visions or have other unusual sensory experiences. It’s friendly and everyone who attends goes out of their way to help people feel at ease. The group welcomes people whether or not they have a diagnosis, and members may also have other issues that they are struggling with (including unusual beliefs, self-harm and bipolar). They are able to offer one to one support before or after the group if members prefer, so they can feel more at ease when they choose to attend the group. |Friday||11:30am - 3:00pm||Drama – Issues Based Theatre - Anyone can join this group, which aims to build confidence through theatre, and create performances focusing on relevant social issues. Please book on to these workshops by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org|
|Alternate Fridays (11/02, 25/02, 11/03, 25/03, 08/04, 22/04, 06/05, 20/05)||Various||NEW - Working Wardrobe appointments (starts 11th February 2022) - Trafford Working Wardrobe support unemployed individuals in Trafford with free interview clothing and interview coaching in order to boost confidence, identify skills and improve chances of securing the job! If you have an upcoming interview for a paid job, placement or apprenticeship, you can attend a session, receive styling advice and keep the clothing all free of charge. You will also receive 1-2-1 intensive interview preparation with an employment specialist which will involve mock interviews, effective responses and body language. To attend an appointment, you need to be referred to Walking Wardrobe by a member of the BlueSCI team. If you are a known to a Wellbeing Practitioner, talk to them about a referral. |Monday-Friday||Various||Complementary Therapies (Indian Head Massage and Reflexology) - Take time for you and book a session of Indian Head Massage or Reflexology now. Proven to relieve headaches, tension in the body, stress, hormone related conditions and poor sleep. Claire offers appointments across a range of days and times, and concessions based on your financial circumstances. Treatments take place in our comfortable treatment room at the centre. |Monday-Friday||09:30am - 4:30pm||Foodbank Vouchers - The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 420 foodbanks, which work out of more than 1,200 centres across the UK and provide emergency food to people during crisis situations such as redundancy, benefit delays or receiving an unexpected bill. We can issue foodbank e-vouchers for parcels containing a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced food. We issue foodbank vouchers with appropriate discretion, and can discuss further support available at the centre. Call us on 0161 877 3719 between 10am-2pm, Monday to Friday, and we’ll arrange to issue a voucher. If you aren’t able to call, come into the centre.|
Activities Happening Online
Zoom is a free video conferencing service that lets you talk with friends and family from all over the world.
As well as being able to keep in touch with loved ones, there are all kinds of group meetings and events taking place over Zoom. During the Covid-19 restrictions, video services such as Zoom have been used to allow virtual gatherings and 121s where physical distancing would otherwise mean these would be cancelled.
Computers and IT support
We have two computers for public use in our reception. We can also print documents for you (at a cost of 10p per page). If you would like to book a computer for a specific day and time, or would like 121 support on using the computer/internet/Microsoft, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and a member of the team will pick up your request.
If you require a quiet space in which to pray whilst you are at the centre, please let us know by contacting reception so we can accommodate your needs where possible. We also have a prayer rug and copies of some religious books available on request.
Free Period Products
Period Products are available in our toilets and are free for visitors to take thanks to Go With The Flow. Please help yourself (we ask that you complete a questionnaire to help identify where there is need, however you do not have to do this).
