What’s On at Partington Library & Wellbeing Centre

We are working hard alongside our partners to make sure that the centre can continue to provide COVID-19 support for people experiencing emotional and psychological distress during these difficult times. We are following government guidelines, and all our activities are health and safety risk assessed.

Wednesday 11.00am-12.00md Reading and Creative writing club – Read and discuss the latest books, write about experiences through verse. no experience needed, anyone welcome. Contact Sahifa on 0161 775 1912 for more information
Thursday 10.30am 45 mins Talk and Walk – Empower You A 45 minute super easy session led by Jane Dennison , Safe – Fun and Easygoing, open to all levels of ability especially individuals who may not have excersised in the past. Where? – Meet up at Elkin Court , Hardwick Rd, Partington. When ?- Thursday Mornings 10:30 am for 45 mins. How Much? – FREE
Thursday 1.00pm-3.00pm Wellbeing Wednesdays Friendly and informal brew and chat group. Pop in for advice, support, or just to have a chat with others. For more information please contact us on 0161 775 1912.

Mondays 9.00am-4.00pm Benefits and Welfare Advice Working out what benefits or tax credits you’re entitled to can be tricky, especially with recent welfare changes. This service is free expert advice by telephone or face to face. Contact Sahifa on 07394 191 483 to book.
Monday 1.00pm-3.00pm Motivational Mondays An 8 week programme designed to motivate you to reach your potential and maintain general wellbeing. You can join at any point in the rolling programme and complete any or all of the sessions. Call us on 0161 775 1912 to find out more about it and book your place!

Monday-Friday 10.00am-5.00pm Free 121 Computer Support If you want to get more computer literate to help with employability, for getting in touch with loved ones, or to build up your confidence, you can book a free 121 with us. We can show you how to create an e-mail address, order food and groceries, join online activities using video software such as Zoom, or any other computer related task you would like to know about.

Monday-Friday 10.00am-4.00pm Foodbank Vouchers The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 420 foodbanks, which work out of more than 1,200 centres across the UK and provide emergency food to people during crisis situations such as redundancy, benefit delays or receiving an unexpected bill. We can issue foodbank e-vouchers for parcels containing a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced food. We issue foodbank vouchers with appropriate discretion, and can discuss further support available at the centre. Call us on 0161 912 3560 between 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday, and we’ll arrange to issue a voucher. If you aren’t able to call, come into the centre.

Activities Happening Online

Zoom is a free video conferencing service that lets you talk with friends and family from all over the world.

As well as being able to keep in touch with loved ones, there are all kinds of group meetings and events taking place over Zoom. During the Covid-19 restrictions, video services such as Zoom have been used to allow virtual gatherings and 121s where physical distancing would otherwise mean these would be cancelled.

Free Sanitary Towels

Sanitary towels are available in our toilets and are free for visitors to take thanks to Go With The Flow. Please help yourself.
