Live Well is Coming to Trafford – Plus a First Look at the Live Well Spring Festival

Greater Manchester’s Live Well movement is arriving in Trafford—bringing with it a new, people‑powered approach to health, connection, and everyday support. Designed to ensure that everyone can live healthier, happier and more connected lives, the Live Well programme represents a major shift in how public services and communities work together across the region.

What is Live Well?

Live Well is Greater Manchester’s commitment to ensuring that every resident, in every neighbourhood, has daily access to support that helps them improve their wellbeing—physically, socially, and economically. This includes connecting people to activities, information, and community spaces, and ensuring they are heard, valued, and supported to make positive change. The programme brings together:

  • Local support services
  • Community and voluntary organisations (VCFSE)
  • Resident‑led initiatives
  • Neighbourhood‑based teams working towards shared outcomes

Coppice Library & Wellbeing Centre Named Trafford’s First Live Well Centre

A major milestone in Trafford’s rollout is the naming of Coppice Library & Wellbeing Centre in Sale as the first official Live Well Centre, launching this March.

As a Live Well Centre, Coppice Library will serve as a community hub offering:

  • A “No Wrong Front Door” approach, ensuring residents can easily access the right support
  • Everyday wellbeing activities
  • Connected public‑sector and voluntary‑sector support under one roof
  • A welcoming, community‑led space designed to grow and evolve based on local needs

This marks the first step in a wider campus‑style model for Sale that will expand the Live Well offer across the neighbourhood.

Live Well Spring Festival – 9th to 23rd March 2026

During March, Greater Manchester will host the first‑ever Live Well Spring Festival, a celebration of people, places and partnerships that bring Live Well to life every day. The festival is designed to showcase the depth and diversity of community‑led support woven throughout the Live Well movement. The festival will feature:

  • Pop‑ups and local activities in neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester
  • Workshops, community events, and wellbeing sessions
  • Activities hosted across community spaces, parks, libraries, high streets and online
  • Opportunities for organisations, groups and residents to curate events that reflect local strengths and priorities

A Community‑Led Future for Trafford

Live Well Trafford is being designed with residents, not just for them, emphasising co‑production, partnership and long‑term community empowerment. It brings together public services, VCFSE partners and local people to create a more connected and supportive borough where everyone has the opportunity to live well—whatever their circumstances.

The launch of the Live Well Spring Festival marks a major moment in this journey, celebrating what’s already happening across neighbourhoods while inviting even more residents, groups and partners to get involved. We hope to see you at some of the events we are running as part of the festival!
