Members of the Bluesci team have made 2130 social prescriptions, linking people into activities and organisations that can help.
Other achievements:
We have launched a number of new services and initiatives:
- Gardening for Growth – helping people learn gardening skills as well as how to set up their own gardening business. Read more and sign up here.
- Connect Well Trafford – a digital wellbeing project aiming to help people navigate the online world and technology safely, and to think about managing long term conditions using assistive technology. Find out more here.
- Volunteer Service – we have enhanced our offer for volunteers by recruiting a volunteer coordinator who ensures that our volunteers get the best experience possible including induction, training and ongoing development. Interested in becoming a volunteer? Click here to find out more.
- Expanding Support into Sale Moor – We have worked with the Central Trafford Primary Care Network and Sale Moor Community Partnership to provide more accessible support for people living in and around Sale Moor. Starting on the 4th December 2025, we delivered a Mental Health Information event in collaboration with Trafford Talking Therapies and Changing Futures and we have a social prescriber based in Sale Moor Community Centre on a weekly basis until March 2026.
- Broomwood Bike Library – As part of a wider Greater Manchester initiative from Transport for Greater Manchester, Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre in Timperley is now a bike library. We have 9 bikes available for regular loan, if you want to loan a bike, you can find out more information here.
- New options in the Old Trafford Cafe – We are delighted that we have two organisations providing lunch options over four days of the week in the cafe in Old Trafford Wellbeing Centre. The organisations are serving up health and delicious options like curries and salads and are a welcome addition to the offer in the centre.
Personal Wellbeing Budgets – We have provided 106 Personal Wellbeing Budgets to people. These are one-time purchases of an item, activity or service that benefit people’s mental health and wellbeing over a long period and are an important element of the NHS personalised care initiative. This year, we have enhanced this offer to be able to fund people to receive talking therapies via The Counselling & Family Centre in Altrincham, increasing access to talking therapies for Trafford residents.
Manchester In Mind Fund – Our Manchester in Mind fund allows us to support small groups to fund things like materials for groups. We have provided over £1000 this year to community groups delivering meaningful and supportive activities to people in Trafford.
